Balm is house hold remedy which Thai people continue to use it for long time. There is a story of it originate from Myanmar, so it has been named “Yaa-Mhong” (Thai people called Myanmar people as Mhong) 

The balm is a traditional medicine contained a mixture of herbs and some important medications such as; peppermint, camphor, borneol, wintergreen essential oil, and more.

Medical properties: it is an external medicine used to apply and rub the symptomatic area to relieve cold symptoms, nasal congestion, faint, dizzy head, bruised, body ache and insect bite.

Yahom is traditional Thai medicine which had been used for a long time since the Ayutthaya period. There is evident of the discovery of records in the palm leave bible and on the wall of great temples of that time. Yahom is used amongst the elite, because some ingredient used was imported from abroad, in addition, the preparation of drugs in the past was limited. Later in Rattanakosin period, the royal medicine such as Yahom were disseminated to rural districts for the people had medicines for treatment.

Wat Pho Temple was the centre of Thai Traditional medicine and medicine texts, had recorded and produced various recipe of Yahom for distribution to the general public. 

Ingredient of Yahom: contain many herb such a pollen of lotus, jasmine, angelica daruhica, angelica sinensis diels, nutmeg, aglaia silvestris, cardamon, clover, and more.

Medicinal properties: in traditional Yahom is used to relived dizzy head, faint, heart palpitate, colic and angina, as well as nourishing heart, nourishing brain, nourishing nervous system, strengthening health, and making longevity. Yahom is produced from the herb without chemical residues, is not harmful to the body and is a popularity of the elder to the present.
